American Alarm Systems
Recent Reviews For American Alarm Systems:
I have been with American Alarms for almost 4 years. I changed my phone provider and was without alarm monitoring for several days and didn't know until the system started beeping.  I never received a call from the company saying they weren't getting a signal.  Then one night, after 11:oo pm my daughter accidently tripped the alarm.  I never received a call from them.  That was the last draw.  I was no longer under contract and had no outstanding balance so I gave a 30 day written notice and cancelled the service.  I own my alarm system and American Alarm didn't install it for me at all.  They only monitored it so at the end, I requested they change the installer code back to the factory default installer code and disable the lock out feature so I can have use of the system that I own.  First **** said it would take a couple of days to get the info and then the next day I called to clarify I didn't want their code but original manufacturer code, **** laughed in my face and told me 125.00.  I will buy another board and key pad before I spend 1 more cent on this business that doesn't care about its customers.  Never use AMERICAN ALARMS IN CARY NC.  They just want your money.  Poor customer service.

We had a great experience with our alarm company and had a current hard-wired security system in our home updated by American Alarm Systems in Cary, NC and monitoring transferred to them. I am completely happy with all aspects of the company.  Our original installing company was no longer in business and I needed to change the monitoring company, too. I am aware of alarm equipment and terms so I called and emailed 5 companies which were either local, regional or national.  One company took over a week to respond, another had very poor answers and others did not want to upgrade our current, working system but rather replace it with their own system.  American Alarm Systems is family-owned, been in business since 1993, local, has their own central station, only uses their own employees (no subcontractors) and the installers had worked for the company for over 15 years (and did a great job).  I received a reply the next day from my inquiry (on a Saturday, even) and when I read the nightmare experiences of others on this and other sites, I took my time and researched alot of companies. I know that bad reviews of any company get more attention but this is my very positive experience.

Recent Review For ADT Fayetteville:
I scheduled to have service reinstalled at the house I live in (disconnected when a new door was installed) and at a rental house in the county.  The house in the county is a new installation and was scheduled to be accomplished March 6, 2008, between 12 and 5.  The technician called and advised that the job he was on was more problematic than he had anticipated and that he would be a little later coming to my house.  He later called and advised he could come and begin the job but it would take until after 12:00 midnight to complete.  He said he would advise the proper person to call for a reschedule.  This was okay because he kept me apprised of what was happening with him.

March 7, 2008, a technician was to be at my home in the city to re-engage my system between 8 and 8:30 a.m.  I called at 1:10 p.m. to find out what was going on and I was connected with the "local" office where I spoke with someone named *****.  ***** advised I would have to talk with **** ***** and that he was on a conference call.  She said she would give him a note and he would call me when he was free.  At 4:00 p.m. I had not heard from this person and called the scheduling personnel again to complain that I had lost 2 days work for these installations.  Again, the March 6, 2008, failure to install as scheduled was not a problem, as I had been keep informed, but not being advised that the technician would not show up and the supervisor, ******, not returning my call with regard to the re-install are totally unacceptable.  I am concerned that the local office personnel's lack of professionalism and disinterest in selling the security system to my two homes may be an overall reflection of ADT's security service and system.  I would like feedback pro & con of the company's security service and response whenever the need may arise.

Recent Review For Power Home Technologies:
We purchased a system for Power Home Technologies our local Vector security Dealer.  We were so pleased with their professionalism and detailed approach to building our security system.  They made many recommendations about things we could do to make our home safer.  The seemed to have a genuine concern for our family and really were much more thorough than the other companies that we met with.  We really enjoyed the two way voice demonstation and it played a big part of our decision.  All in all we couldn't be happier.  What a great company. I would definitely recommend them.

Recent Review For ISI Alarms:
8 months ago a sales rep rang my doorbell and knocked and was like "Hi I'm ****** with Monitronics.  I'm trying to get some signs on the street to help the salesman out in a couple of weeks".  If he could put his sign in my yard he would pay to have his wireless system installed in my house.  I said ok.  So he came inside and told me the system was a point basis and I got 5 for it being a new system, 3 door contacts and a glassbreak sensor.  I saw a picture of the keychain remote and the picture said additional points were 99 dollars.  He said he would do it for seventy five.  So then we were wrapping up the paperwork and he said "I need a voided check for the eft" on whichever date I specified and that there was a one time activation fee ($23 for police, $23 for fire and $23 for emt). He needed a check for $103.99, I told him I was broke.  So he gave me the keyfob free and rebated my first month. Two days later the installer brought me a check from ISI Alarms the dealer the kid worked for for 34.99. I was amazed.  So far I love it, I have honeywell equipment and two-way voice.  The keyfob is the greatest invention ever, I can arm or disarm my alarm from anywhere in my yard or house.  Monitronics is great so far, I highly recommend them.
