Not at all satisfied with Ackerman. Signed a 1-year contact, but continued services for about 6 years. Never received a contract renewal. When I changed to web-based phone service that was not compatible with their monitoring, I canceled the monitoring service. I received an invoice from Ackerman asking for several months monitoring fee based on cancellation. I tried to call their business office several times, but the business manager was never available and never returned my calls. I also received threats to turn bill over to a collection agency. A very poorly run company, much more interested in taking your money than providing customer service.

Our local company for Monitronics is Integrated Excellence and they have been horrible. Our contract is almost up and we are very happy to be switching. I have several reasons to believe our system has never worked. For six months into our service, we didn't know that we had a bad central system. After a couple of months, it had drained the back-up battery and our alarm would go off at random times for no reason...we never received a call. I would always have to call them. They finally sent a technician out to replace the faulty unit and the back-up battery. A few months later, we had family staying with us that set off a false alarm...no call from the company. We find out that when the technician came out the last time, they forgot to reconnect the needed piece to allow the system to work with our VOIP service. Okay...just this past year, we decided to get a landline to make things easier. I called the company to ask if we needed to do anything special since we are switching types of phone service. I was told "no". Again, we had another false alarm and no phone call received. I called and was told that the technician did indeed have to come out and remove the piece that was for the VOIP service. It was after all this that they finally told me I'm responsible for testing that the system is working, not them! If we weren't tied into a contract that made us pay 100% of the 3 years whether we kept them or not, I would have dumped them a LONG time ago. I am very upset that we've been paying them for 3 years of practically NO security service.

I followed the advice of a previous poster here and invited DSI to my home for a consult. Everything was great: price, new technology, speedy install scheduling, and piece of mind. Then the "I will see if I can work it into my install schedule" install date came and went with no word. The "won't happen any later than this day" install date also came and went with no word from him. Today was another business day...no update, excuse, explanation, or anything. Nada. At 10pm tonight I canceled with DSI. As a local business owner, I chose a local alarm business because I wanted the personal attention the big guys couldn't offer - the personal attention I extend my clients. DSI may be closer than the call centers we hear about in India, but I wouldn't know.

In October of 2005 Diversified System, Inc. installed a security system in our business. The DSI security
consultant who came out to give us an evaluation of our security needs was very professional and not pushy. He provided us with an official written copy of the analysis and provided us with a list of 50 or so satisfied customers. As I contacted each of customers provided to me It became clear to me that this alarm company was
unlike any other. The three year warranty that they offered was one of the deciding factors that made me to chose this company. Since the security system was installed, the system has preformed flawlessly except once when one of my wireless transmitters battery was low. DSI responded so quick that I didn't even have a chance to
contact them. They contacted me and came out within 3 hours and replaced the battery free of charge. DSI contacted me today to let me know that my security system back-up battery was due to be replaced. When I asked how much it would be to replace it they told me there would be no charge for that either and I immediately decided to write this review. At a time when customer service has almost disappeared it is nice to find a company who values their customers. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs to have a system installed or needs to have one monitored.

(Added July 19/10) I have just purchased a Monitronics monitored system and am well pleased with Monitronics and the dealer who installed the system. I have researched all monitoring companies and I selected them based on response times. I know they have been around a long time so they must be doing something right. As for the authorized dealer, I was well pleased with the installation of the equipment and really enjoyed **** *****, the owner. Everything was fully explained and he answered all questions asked by myself and my wife.
